Your best shield against the virus.

At the time of writing, one in every 5 Los Angelenos are infected with coronavirus, and Hospital ICUs (Intensive Care Units) are over capacity. At the current rate of vaccination, it will take years for every American to be inoculated against this virus. Not months…years.

That means, whenever you’re out in public, you will almost certainly be interacting with someone who is COVID-positive and might not even know it. So yeah, face masks aren’t going anywhere soon. In fact, they’re more important than ever. We’re in this for the long haul, and probably even a little longer than that.

Personal Protective Gear (like face masks) are going to be a fact of life for the foreseeable future. It made me re-evaluate my “mask wardrobe.” That’s right. You need to have multiple clean masks at the ready if you want to stay healthy.

I can’t believe I’m saying it either, but I really do think these face masks are super cute. They are 100% cotton and feel as soft and comfortable as your favorite worn-in T-shirt. And I like that they come pre-washed and ready to wear right out of the packaging. They come in chic basic black, or a sophisticated palette of beautifully saturated colors.

I also love these handy Mask Straps. These straps are important because:

  1. They make any mask with ear loops fit snugly around my face with no gaps to let particles inside.
  2. They keep the pressure off of my sore ears, and
  3. They keep my mask securely around my neck when I’m not wearing it, which means I don’t lose it in a random pocket or have to put it on a potentially infected surface while eating.

I’m lucky enough to be able to work from home, but when I do have to venture out to the store or run errands, I’ve been adding an extra layer of protection with a Face Shield. Wearing a mask is absolutely necessary, but the face shield also covers your eyes from any airborne droplets floating around (another point of entry for the virus).

Since this new strain of the Virus was discovered state-side, I’m not taking any chances. If it sounds scary, that’s because it is! I know we all have COVID-fatigue, but now is not the time to let your guard down. Stay home unless you absolutely have to, don’t hang out with people outside of your household, and don’t forget to always wash your hands! Please, no matter how cute or stylish a mask is, don’t forget you need to wash it after each use. Might I suggest some Everything Laundry Soap?

Stay Safe!
