How To Cut Your Dry-Cleaning Bill In Half

How To Cut Your Dry-Cleaning Bill In Half

Americans are addicted to dry-cleaning. In fact, according to industry reports, the average household spends about $500 on dry cleaning per year—and that number could easily top four figures if you're still wearing suits, dresses, or other hard-to-wash pieces that require a trip to a professional. We tend to dry-clean everything after just one or two wears. That much dry-cleaning is unnecessary, and hard on your clothes (not to mention your wallet). Garment Groom, is a natural stain remover, fabric freshener, and laundry pre-treat that means you can kiss your dry-cleaner goodbye.

Or at least farewell.

It's the perfect thing to clean all of your unwashable items. Like the inside of hats. It's brilliant as an on-the-spot stain remover and laundry pre-treat for all of your delicates and everyday laundry, and can actively reduce and eliminate all types of stains from washable fabrics including food, coffee, tea, juices, wine, and sweat.

Quite apart from the expense, most dry-cleaners use tetrachloroethylene, which the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) says is a volatile organic solvent and can pose serious health hazards through repeated, uncontrolled exposure. Not exactly ideal.  Plus, many stain removers rely on bleach or bleach alternatives that can still change the color or texture of a garment, but Garment Groom has Decyl Glucoside, a gentle plant-derived surfactant that won't irritate the skin.

HOW TO USE IT

As a Stain-Remover

Just spritz it on, let it sit for a few minutes (or until you're ready to wash it) then throw it in the machine—or dab with cloth or brush to release the stain.  It's bleach-free, dye-free, paraben-free, phthalate-free, and cruelty-free, but it's also safe on silk, cashmere, cotton, denim, linen, rayon, wool, and any fabric not harmed by water.

As a Fabric Refresher

Just spray generously, wipe gently with a clean cloth and hang to air dry. Garment Groom's Basil, Mandarin, and Kale fragrance is a bright, botanical blend of just-cut greens and herbs, rounded out with juicy citrus. It's a fresh, clean fragrance that everybody loves. It's perfect for freshening up fabrics that have been sitting in your closet since you last wore them—like a blazer or a pair of trousers you threw on for that meeting back in 2019.

As a Wrinkle Releaser

That’s right: Garment Groom also works as an effective wrinkle release! Just spray liberally and hang to freshen fabric and smooth wrinkles. If you have a dryer, throw your garment in for no more than 10 minutes after spraying on Garment Groom and there will be no trace of wrinkles—or shrinkage. Plus, your clothes will smell fabulous. I've seriously had people ask me what perfume I was wearing after using it.

While Garment Groom may not eliminate the need for an occasional trip to the dry-cleaner forever, it's a great natural way to keep your clothes cleaner and fresher for longer.
