YOUR NEW FAVORITE BREAKFAST

After a summer of spicy margaritas, cooking lots of pasta with the boys, and not nearly enough home exercise classes, I’m ready for a little…reset. I have a new routine now, which consists of waking up early enough to hit the Bellicondrink a gallon of Spa water daily, and my new secret weapon? A spoonful of GoodMix on whatever I’m having for breakfast.  

I found out about this magic mixture 2 years ago while visiting my Husband’s family in Australia. It’s a crazy-long flight and (there’s no sexy way of saying this) the stress of travel can, uh, back me up sometimes. I found it at a health food store in Sydney and I kid you not, ONE serving later, everything was moving right along.  

Success!  

Needless to say, I’m obsessed with it. I feel weird if I don’t have at least 1 bag in the fridge and another in the pantry. TBH, I was skeptical at first. It just looked like a bag of expensive birdseed to me. But this is not birdseed. It’s made from a Paleo-Vegan friendly mix of organic seeds, coconut, dried fruit, and cacao nibs. It’s delicious with no added sweetener. 

They say these organic ingredients are specially selected to promote the good bacteria in your gut flora, which is essential to overall wellness and good digestion. In Max-Speak: It’s a Power- Wash for your insides! I lost 2 pounds in the first week.  

I fill up to half of a small Mason jar with the dry mix, add a little filtered water, and shake it up to store in the fridge. You can eat it raw, but adding water breaks down the seed’s natural protective coating, so you get the full spectrum of nutrients and live enzymes that are great for gut health.  

I spoon it onto my yogurt, toast, or oatmeal, but you can also chuck it into a smoothie, sprinkle it on a salad or into a burrito if that’s your jam. Just get it in there if you want to feel a little bit lighter on your feet.
